Energy Optimization Program

The Energy Optimization Program is the most comprehensive, dynamic and personal approach to residential energy available. We go beyond a traditional energy audit to create an energy blueprint that is tailored to you and your homes needs. We assist and guide you in creating a comfortable, efficient space.

We first aim to understand how you use your space and what your goals are for your home, what you have noticed regarding the physical characteristics of your home (drafts, moisture etc). From there we do a detailed physical, structural and mechanical analysis of the entire home focusing on the following characteristics:

• Building Envelope - Average resistance to heat flow (r-value), air leakage and infiltration rate, window construction etc.
• Mechanical Systems - efficiency of combustion appliances, physical condition, type and effectiveness of air distribution.
• Climatic Impact and Energy Use - Local climate, thermostat setting, roof overhangs, potential for renewable energy generation.
• Age and type of home - opportunities related to period of construction and building materials.
• Potential health and safety hazards - asbestos, lead, mold etc.

We then design a detailed blueprint for your house; where are the most critical issues in the house? What forward steps will give the greatest return on your investment?
