Thom began his career as a carpenter, moonlighting, while managing a motion picture film processing lab, in 1995.0 He soon realized that working both ends of a candle wasn’t realistic and took a full-time job, as a carpenter in 1998.

Learning the ropes and many tricks of the trade, he moved up to finish carpenter: setting cabinetry and working millwork. Lead carpenter followed and Thom spent a year working in the millwork shop, also. He was promoted to Site Supervisor and put in charge of day-to day operations on multiple sites.

Passions and Pursuits

Thom enjoys sharing a household with Bear & LC (dog and cat), puttering around in the yard, greenhouse & cabin and traveling with his loving and adventurous life partner, Kari: especially with their friends John & Juli. He likes searching for and collecting vinyl LP’s, live music, canoe trips and camping within the BWCAW, as well as occasionally turkey and deer hunting , in South Dakota.

He has hobbies, involving bird feeding and fire building, both of which help divert his attention from the many tasks associated with home ownership. Despite his best intentions, some actually and eventually get accomplished. Thom even owns as electric guitar and amp; perhaps someday he will learn to play it.
